Trail run through the world's largest hand planted forest, the Nebraska National Forest's Bessey District.
Ordinary. Is that you?
Most of us feel like that. "I'm just plain me," or "What you see is what you get," defines us.
Yet. You know there is more. You know you are more. Like me.
I'm an exceedingly (extra) ordinary guy. Nothing special. Dictionaries use me to illustrate the word "ordinary." I'm a husband. A father. A pastor. A runner. A neighbor. A reader. A writer. A friend. An ordinary guy.
Yet my desire is to be exceptional (extraordinary) through Jesus' life within me. I'm imperfect. But I am working moment by moment, day by day to be more of Jesus & less of me.
So, my site's name is a double entendre. Not to deceive, but to illustrate my life in Christ. An ordinary person filled up with an extraordinary Savior.
Anything above average about me is by the exceeding grace of God at work in my life.
- By His grace I've been saved to abundant, eternal life through the death of Jesus Christ.
- By His grace I've been married more than fourteen years to an amazing wife, Melanie.
- By His grace I have three wonderful children: Reading Adventurer Seth, 10; Dancing Princess Mary Elizabeth, 7; Loving Linebacker John Mark, 5.
- By His grace I pastor the loving congregation of Southview Baptist Church.
- By His grace I live in the wonderful city of Lincoln, (thereisnoplacelike) Nebraska.
- By His grace I am.
For these blessings & countless more, I am thankful.
